ANNOUNCEMENT On January 17, 2017, our Bishop, the Most Reverend Frank J. Dewane, informed us in writing of his decision to refer the matter of our Pastor, Father Christopher Senk, to Rome at the Congregation for Clergy for a decision. On Friday, June 23, 2017, Father Christopher’s advocate, Father David Deibel, received notice that the case file from the Diocese of Venice was transmitted to the Congregation. Father Christopher’s case is in the Congregation’s hands. Bishop Dewane’s letter of January 17, 2017 to the parish in which he gives his reasons can be viewed by clicking on the link below. Please review the letter from our Bishop. Letter from Bishop Dewane to St Isabel Parishioners Unbelievably, our Bishop cited our resistance to his authority as a harm to the church and as a reason, among others, for his referral to the Congregation. And, yet, despite repeated requests for greater transparency and for a meeting at which to share our concerns, there is only silence. To date, our requests have fallen on deaf ears. Please check this website often as we will update it as information becomes available. In the meantime, the prayer services on Thursday mornings continue. We remain united. If you want to help Father Chris by contributing financially to his Fight for Justice, you can make a check out to the Parishioners for Justice and mail it directly to the Bank of the Islands or to: PO Box 302 Sanibel FL 33957 In the name of our Lord, we thank you, Parishioners for Justice
