The Epiphany of the Lord January 07, 2018
As the Magi followed the star in search of the infant Jesus, may we follow the signs of God in our lives seeking his will for us as we offer our prayers and petitions.
- That the Church may be a constant and vibrant star that illuminates the world and leads all people to Jesus. We pray to the Lord.
- That all nations may walk by the light of the infant Jesus and all leaders by His shining radiance. We pray to the Lord.
- That Christian people suffering from persecution and hatred may find hope and experience the manifestation of the Lord in their lives and hearts. We pray to the Lord.
- That the Christmas season we celebrate may be an epiphany for the bishops of the church who are called to seek God’s will for the priests and people they shepherd. We pray to the Lord.
- That the new life of all infants may be treasured as a gift from God that expresses his love for his people. We pray to the Lord.
- That the parishioners of St. Isabel’s Church may sincerely seek Jesus in their lives with courage and humility, despite those, who like King Herod, are troubled by their faith. We pray to the Lord.
- That Fr. Christopher may know that in the midst of the darkness that surrounds him, the Lord shines radiantly upon him offering strength and hope. We pray to the Lord.
- That those who are ill may receive compassionate care that is a star that brings them joy and draws them closer to God. We pray to the Lord.
- That those who have died may be overjoyed at entering the place where the Father dwells and be at peace in his company for eternity. We pray to the Lord.
- For our own intentions that we recall in silence…….. We pray to the Lord.
O God, our heavenly Father, you placed a star in the sky not for its own beauty but so that it may draw the wise to Jesus. May we be vigilant to recognize all the stars in our lives that draw us to the Lord and provide answers to the prayers we make through Christ our Lord. Amen.
