As I read the prayers of thanksgiving so many offer at this time of the year—–I know how fortunate many of us are……and how we have shared with others and I realize how lucky we are to among those who are able to share more! It gives us happiness to be able to help those who are in need. The ‘blessing’ is both ours and theirs !
We hope and we pray that people in govt. who can get the stimulus money to those who are out of work and need food and funds to pay bills—…….rent money and a warm coat or boots and gloves or warm bowl of soup — will know the urgency of helping those who need
our help right now! Let’s walk in their shoes for a week and experience what it is like to need help! We have so much!
Pray that that money will be released to those who need this help at this time of covid 19. It can be done –it should be done——-and we need to pray AND act for that help for our brothers and sisters–many we do not even personally know – or maybe there is someone we DO know personally who we can offer a helping hand to?
When in Ireland many years ago— i heard Mary Murphy say:” There are no pockets in the last raincoat!” We can share it with others!
Now is a good time to cleanout some of the clutter in our basements or closets–but also a good time to give a little to people who are out of work and may need some help RIGHT NOW! JUST DO IT!
‘Christ the King’ was also our beloved ‘Christ the Good Shephard’! Amen.
Peace/ Pray for our country to be generous and kind to those who need extra help right now
Sincerely- mary jo maher
PS
MY DAD USED TO SAY ” I HOPE YOU NEVER HAVE TO GO THRUGH THE DEPRESSION’ ‘ HE KNEW WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO NOT HAVE A JOB — AND TO HAVE A FAMILY TO SUPPORT AND BRING HOME FOOD TO——–AND MEDICAL BILLS PILING UP!
MAYBE WE CAN ALL DO A LITTLE BIT TO ALLEVIATE THIER WORRIES?
