Weekly Prayers of the Faithful

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, June 04, 2023

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, June 04, 2023

As we celebrate the great mystery of the Holy Trinity, we offer our petitions asking that God will be with us in all the mysteries we encounter.

  1. That the Church will live the fact that God so loved the whole world that he gave his only Son and thus draw every individual to believe in him so that none will perish but all might have eternal life.  We pray to the Lord.
  2. That nations, cultures, and individuals seeking to end disputes through violence or war may mend their ways, encourage one another, find agreement, and live in peace so that the God of love and peace will be with them.  We pray to the Lord.
  3. That despite our many failings, we may know the Lord as a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity, who receives each of us as his own.  We pray to the Lord.
  4. That on this International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, we will commit ourselves to the support of children who suffer from physical, mental, or emotional abuse as an essential element of efforts to promote every individual’s right to life. We pray to the Lord.
  5. That the family courts in our country will be blessed with wisdom so that decisions made ensure the well-being of children and enable them to thrive despite difficult situations that threaten their happiness and well-being.  We pray to the Lord.
  6. That this celebration of the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity will be an occasion for us to recall with joy our plea for faith when we were baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  We pray to the Lord.
  7. That we will be strengthened each day by the love of the Father, the presence of the Son in all we do, and the fellowship and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We pray to the Lord.
  8. That this new hurricane season will be marked by calm winds, gentle rains, and the embracing warmth of summer so that the ocean will be a source of relaxation and refreshment for those who visit or live in coastlands.  We pray to the Lord.
  9. That on this anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, we will be mindful of those who have stood up with hope for freedom and against persecution in China and in other societies sacrificing their lives for others.  We pray to the Lord.
  10. That the suffering of those who are ill will be eased by the assurance that they are created by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit.  We pray to the Lord.
  11. That friends, family, and parishioners who have died will be pardoned for any wickedness and for all sins as they are received into eternal life as God’s own.  We pray to the Lord.

O God, on this glorious solemnity we offer our praise to the Blessed Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and ask that through your answer to our prayers we may come to know your will, live as Jesus did, and find wisdom to be people of faith.  We make our prayers inspired by the Spirit, to you through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
