Gerald “Jerry” Swerdlick, 81, beloved husband of Catherine (Jamrog) Swerdlick, of Westerly, RI, and Captiva Island, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Westerly Hospital with loved ones by his side.
Born in Westerly, RI, he was the son of the late Samuel and Hattie Swerdlick.
Jerry was the former President of Electronic Vision Access Solutions (EVAS) in Westerly. He took great pride in being able to help those like himself ,with vision impairments, lead a full and joyful life. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church, Westerly and Saint Isabel Church, Sanibel Island, FL as well as a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, Council 21 Westerly. He enjoyed listening to audio books and Frank Sinatra. Jerry thoroughly enjoyed spending time on Captiva Island Florida with his wife while making new friends. He also enjoyed his daily walks.
In addition to his loving wife of fifty years, Catherine, he leaves behind his daughter, Sara Swerdlick (Patrick) Saint Jean of Westerly, RI. and also his grandson, Eric Christopher Fortier of Rhode Island.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 7th from 4-7 pm in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 8th at 10 am at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, Westerly. Burial will immediately follow in River Bend Cemetery, 117 Beach Street, Westerly.
